A bond worth building.

Facilitating a stronger relationship for you and your pup through embodied presence, practice, and play! We use bond-building games through reward-based training methods rooted in learning and behavior science.

What’s the Why?

I have a passion for learning, teaching, and connecting with others. A bonus is when I can provide a service that creates empathy and understanding in a place where frustration and confusion may have grown. My goal is to support you on your journey with your canine loved ones, learn how to communicate effectively and remember to have fun with one another. The human-dog relationship is a great place to work and learn about self-regulation, problem-solving, and empathy towards another sentient being. The best part is, that these skills and techniques can also be used to create positive and encouraging relationships in all other areas of our life as well: dog, human, and even our feathered friends.

1:1 Personalized Training

Embodied Animal Training’s goal is to provide each human and dog team with the tools to build effective communication skills with one another. Not only will we be working with your dog, but you will also be taught about dog body language and how dogs learn, which helps us develop an individualized training plan for your handler and dog team.

Jax (she/they) owns Embodied Animal Training and is a passionate trainer from California, raised on Ohlone land. Growing up among coastal redwoods and beaches, Jax developed a love for animals, nature, and the outdoors. This passion led them to study American Sign Language and Deaf Education, gaining over ten years of experience in public education, outdoor education, and at the California School for the Deaf, Fremont.

In 2015, acquiring a red-fronted macaw named Forrest ignited Jax's interest in behavior science and positive reinforcement training. Forrest remains a key teacher in Jax's understanding of animal behavior.

Transitioning from traditional education, Jax now supports positive human-animal relationships as a Certified Training Partner through Karen Pryor Academy and holds a Fear Free Certification. They continually study the latest science-based training techniques to enhance the well-being of their human and dog clients.
